OCCULΤ CARCINOMA OF ΤΗΕ THYROID
Abstract
Occult thyroid carcinomas are small clinically undetected tumors measuring 10 mm or less in diameter, usually of the parillary histologic type. They may be incidentally found in a thyroid surgical specimen or in autopsy studies. Occult carcinomas can produce lymphatic and less often blood-borne metastases. Ιt seems that there is no sex or age preference and the overall prognosis is good.References
