Abstract

The aim of this study was the estimation of a chemoprofylaxis protocol indused in patients operated for benign diseases of biliary tract. 112 patients were studied. 32 of them had no chemoprofylaxis because there was not any obvious risk factor, while the rest 80 patients had a chemoprofylaxis by cefamandole or ceftriaxone in different doses. Ιn this group only 2 infections of the surgical traume were observed which means that chemoprofylaxis by those antibiotics is of good value.
