IS Α T-TUBE DRAINAGE OF ΤΗΕ COMMON BILE DUCT (CBD) ENOUGH AFTER Α CHOLEDOCHOTOMY ΟR Α SURGICAL DRAINAGE PROCEDURE IS NEEDED?
Abstract
This study concerns 35 patients operated for exploration of the common bile duct because of choledocholithiasis and a T-tube drainage of the CBD was used. 32 of the patients had a cholocystectomy and a CBD exploration plus a T-tube drainage. 3 of the patients had a CBD exploration plus a T-tube drainage. CBD exploration was positive for lithiasis in 24 out of 35 patients. Ιt is concluded that residual gallstones is an often complication in biliary surgery which very often requires a surgical treatment and may be a drainage surgical procedure could be used.References
