Abstract

Free thyroid hormone changes were studied in twelwe patients free of metabolic disease who underwent elective cholecystectomy. Mean FT4 levels ranged from 10,8 pmoles/lit on the 2nd postoperative day to 14,2 pmoles/lit on the 7nd postoperative day. Mean FT3 levels ranged from 5,7 pmoles/lit on the 4th postopetarive day to 8,5 pmoles/day at the first hour after induction of anesthesia. All the mean levels ranged within normal limits. None of the above changes was significant.
