COLONIZATION OF ΤΗΕ LARGE INTESTINE ΙΝ NEWBORN ΒΥ CESARIAN SECTION: INFLUENCE OF ΤΗΕ ENVIRONMENT
Abstract
Newborn by cesarian section constitute an ideal model for studies concerning colonization by the normal fecal flora. We studied the fecal flora of 18 newborns issued from 2 different maternity hospitals. Our isolations were realized anaerobically using the Columbia blood medium or the Columbia blood medium with the addition of antibiotics. Fecal floras of newborns seems to be different in each maternity, and colonization by the normal fecal flora in dependent on the microbial charge of the nosocomial environment and hospital staff, as well as the quality of the nosocomial care.References
